Black Bear Pass (Ouray area)
This trail was a lot of fun. We took the old trail with the off-camber section. The view down to Telluride is breathtaking!
Poughkeepsie Gulch (Ouray area)
We enjoyed it so much we We ended up doing this trail both directions.
California Gulch (Ouray area)
Corkscrew Gulch (Ouray area)
Engineer's Pass (Ouray area)
Imogeen Pass(Ouray area)
Ophir Pass (Ouray area)
Yankeboy Basin (+ both side trips) (Ouray area)
Mt. Antero (Buena Vista)
We could only do the alternate up to the mine due to snow.
Mt. Baldy, FR379 - Moderate (ZJ)
The peak (N38 45.955', W105 00.179', 13,226 ft) is just above the Stratten Resevior. You can see the peak from the Cog Railway on the way up Pike's Peak. We were lucky, they had just plowed the snow the day before, so the gate to the top was open. It's got a several microwave relay towers for long distance calls on top. I would like to revisit this trail in the TJ. We were told not to take the Beaver Creek route back in the ZJ. They said more clearance plus a winch for back up was needed for that way. Now we have both. We did drive a couple miles down the Beaver Creek route. The ZJ needed spoting a couple of times.
Devils ?? - Moderate (ZJ, before the TJ)
Near Mt. Evans. This was a lot of fun. More of an exploring type of trail. Since we didn't have a GPS yet and there were too many intersections going in every direction, plus you couldn't see over the weeds, we bailed out before getting lost as it was getting late.
Rampart Range Road - Scenic (ZJ, before the TJ)
The entrance to the road is in Garden of the Gods park. Once on the road we experianced breathtaking views at almost every turn. Their are two great overlooks, and it's well worth a side trip to see the Rampart Reservior.
Phantom Canyon - Scenic (ZJ, Before the TJ)
This also provides many breathtaking, beautiful views along the old railway line. It's definatly the way to go if you have some time avaialable on your way to Canyon City.

- Tuttle Creek - Randolph ORV (TJ)
We've been down 12 times now, and just love the place! We still haven't been every where. It's a lot of fun and a lot closer than Colorado (Plan to go back there this year and maybe Moab too!) It's got dirt, mud and rock! Some of the rock ledges are big enough that even the Jeeps with 35's either had to pile rocks, winch or be strapped up the worst ones.
- Flatlanders Jeep Club 2nd Annual 4x4 Fest (5/1/99)
Nancy and I had a great time! Trail rides in the morning and afternoon at the Randolph ORV. Then on to the 30 degree RTI test. I went up 68 inches, which produced a score of 728! (by math conversion of 1.462 to a 20 degree ramp 1,064)
- Briggs Jeep Jamboree (10/99)
The trail rides in the morning and afternoon at the Randolph ORV were great.
