| Borla Cat Back Exhaust | |
I wanted to reduce back pressure, increase torque & horsepower, maybe a
little better gas milage. Well, to be honest, yes I wanted what I listed, but I
also wanted that cooler exhaust note you get from the Borla Cat Back system.

| Jet Performance Stage 2 chip | |
I needed more power to pull our pop up camper. The other options like a turbo or supercharger were over $3,000. Another option I found was a 4.7L stroker kit that was over $2,200 for the parts, but it would give you 275 HP and 305 ft pounds of torque! This is more than Jeep's new 4.7L V8. Down the road I may do this as the low end torque was out of this world at idle and continues all the way up. For now I needed a solution that wouldn't break the bank. I have it on trial till
September. My preliminary tests seem pretty good. I'll post more info as I try it out.

| ProPower Performance Alternator | |
I found out very quickly that the factory alternator just was not going to cut it, so
off I went and after a lot of searching I selected the PROPOWER Performance 175 amp (hot)
Alternator from The Mechanical Man. So far I can say that it works GREAT!

| Optima Yellow Top Battery | |
I also found out very quickly that the factory battery just was not going to cut it, so
off I went and got an Optima Yellow Top battery.

| Air Compressor | |
I went with the Currie Air Compressor based on strong recommendations I have received
on this compressor. I could have used an ARB compressor to double for the ARB Air Locker
and filling tires, but it didn't seem big enough. I could have used the ARB plus a
Quick Air II for tires, but why mount two compressors when you can get one continuous
heavy duty compessor like the Currie. It cost as much as the other two combined, but
from personal recommendations, it should be running long after the others have died. The install went very smooth thanks to Bob and Scott Kincaid. I figured out where to put it, but they fabricated a mounting bracket that made the installation so easy. | |
| Hoodlift | |
|
I figured after reading the warning that came with the hood locks I bought, this
would be a great option. The hood lock instructions strongly warned about dropping
your hood could cause serious damage. Also I've seen the wind blow a hood off the
prop rod and into the windshield. With the HoodLift from Jim Piatt, this is no longer
a problem.
