Living along I-84 in Stormville, NY (south of Poughkeepsie and east of
Pomona), I have made calls in the area. Our local animal control boards lost
dogs at the East Fishkill Animal Hospital (914/221-0695). When I called, it
turns out they do have a Samoyed, but it is a male, 2-3 years old, who has
been there since November 23rd.

Today I am making calls in the Port Chester, NY area (the first/last on I-287)
and its bordering towns of Byram and Greenwich, Connecticut. Consider that
area "done".

No Samoyeds in months...NEED POSTER...I was the first person to call them in

I sent e-mails to 3 NBC affiliates in PA to run the footage - they are:

Pittsburgh
Lancaster
Johnstown

Beth
Sizzlin' Samoyeds

On 12/19/97 (Friday), The Philadelphia Bureau of the Associated Press put a
story and picture on the "wire". I'm not sure who picked it up other than
Sal's local NBC affiliate, WBRE in Scranton. Apparently, I saw a SAMFANS post
last night, Sal was interviewed for the 11 PM News and shown pointing out a
tatoo on one of his other Samoyeds.

It would be helpful if Samfans (other than NYC-I did it already) could call or
FAX their NBC affiliate stations and let them know that the footage is
available from WBRE in Scranton. Please also let your local newspapers know
about the Associated Press wire article from Friday. Based on conversations I
had with the newsroom, TV stations only provide footage to affiliates of the
same network.

These sources of visual or written info may make it easier for local stations
and papers without a lot of extra resources to print or air the story. When
you call, make sure to talk about the holidays and how the internet/SAMFANS
are involved.

Thanks, Mira

I got a 'nasty' letter from Mountain Lakes (tv or radio station) to

remove

them from our list.....they will not publish info.

I went to Bloomsbury truck stop (off 78) and they were very, very nice.

Talked with a few of the truckers, who advised that I post the fliers at

their 'motel check in' part of the truckstop counter, where the truckers

check in, by the phones, near the lounge, and in the restaurant. Some

truckers took fliers with them-- I asked them even if they weren't

headed

north, to please mention her on the CB so that others might know she's

out

there.

Also stopped at Penn/Jersey truckstop (off 78).....manager was not real

pleasant when I asked him if I could leave fliers.....he basically

ignored

me. So I asked once again if he would mind if I left these for the

truckers-- and he said he wasn't interested. I 'thanked' him for his

generosity, and mentioned how 'kind' he was......then in the parking

lot,

handed a few fliers to nearby truckers-- then the manager came out &

asked

me if I'd like to leave some fliers near the phones, and 'offered' to

put

one on the door for me:)
