| KSSoftware
KSSoftware started out of a need for a simple needs analysis tool for insurance agents that worked for me in 1982. The original "tools" were simply spread sheets created in Visicalc on an Apple II. Learning to use and create spread sheets like Visicalc, MultiPlan, Lotus 123 and Quatro lead to learning programming in Pascal, C, Assembler. And now Delphi, HTML and JAVA. The results of my efforts? -- The tools were a success -- My agents' sales production significantly increased and I was sales manager of the year for the next two years, with the insurance company I was associated with at that time. The original spread sheets became individual stand-alone programs in 1984 that produced the same results. But they were easier and more intuitive for the users. In 1985 I combined the programs into a integrated LARGE program. As others became aware of my "tools", they wanted the applications so I started KS Software. The programs were licensed and sold by three national distributors for several years. This was during the laptop computer sales bonanza during the mid to late 80's. At that time there were probably 20,000 users of the Agent Computer Tools and Primary Agent Computer tools. Well maybe not all were users but they were owners of it.... During that time period, if you were an insurance agent or registered representative you could hardly purchase a laptop computer that didn't have my programs bundled with it. The tools added a degree of professionalism and my customers asked for
more tools and I created them. I also created a simple word processor,
flat file data base and spread sheet program that were also integrated
into the "tools". Some of those program became shareware, titled the SLIC
Works, and were eventually licensed to many colleges, universities and
other schools around the world. I still get an occasional shareware check
in the mail for SLIC even though it has not been updated in 10 years!

I no longer represent any insurance or investment companies. Neither do I make any specific recommendations. So please don't ask. I'll leave that business to those professionals that are still actively in it. I am satisfied at just helping them and their clients achieve their goals at financial planning. My interest in computers placed me in a new career. Today, I work
at maintaining a wide area computer network, its' workstations and all
that goes with it. I also do some custom application programming for myself
and my employer. However, I still occasionally consult with insurance companies
and others that license the PACT+ and WinPACT+ programs.
Throughout the years many agents, financial planners, agents and others have used my programs. A few of my customers have been there from the beginning. Thanks for your support!! |
